Super Smash Bros. Ultimate x Minecraft

There is some big news released from Nintendo on Thursday announcing that Steve and Alex from Minecraft are joining the character roster in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on the Nintendo Switch. This update will be released on October 13th, 2020, and there is a video where the director, Masahiro Sakurai, shows off all their new moves, including Steve and Alex’s ability to build your own platform out of Minecraft blocks!

With the addition of these new characters, there is a total of six different Minecraft characters you can choose from, each having three of their own skins:

You will also be able to harvest materials from the walls and ground with your tools which will allow you to upgrade your weapons, and each level will have a different material for you to mine.

These new Minecraft characters can be bought from the Fighter Pass Vol. 2 DLC that’s currently $29.99, but you can also get the Minecraft pack by itself for $5.99. There are also new costumes that your Mii fighters can dress up as, including a Creeper, a Pig, or you can dress them up in some diamond armor. These new costumes will cost you $0.75 each.

According to the game’s director, Masahiro Sakurai, including these new Minecraft characters into the game was a big challenge for his team due to the fact they had to rework every map so that blocks can be placed in them.
